The FIRST General Body Meeting (GBM) of Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu Chapter, was held in the Conference Hall at JK Public School, Kunjwani, Jammu on 02 August 2022 at 2 pm onwards.

Proceedings with Action:

1. Welcome address by Ms. Randeep Wazir, the Joint Secretary, JSSC

Ms. Randeep Wazir, the Joint Secretary, JSSC & Principal, IDPS, Jammu delivered the formal welcome address. She praised the member Principals of Jammu Sahodaya for exhibiting the true spirit of Sahodaya, which has been enshrined in the coinage ‘RISING TOGETHER’ and for making its brilliant manifestation in every activity of JSSC so far.

2. Introduction of the new members to the House by the Jt. Secretary JSSC

Ms. Randeep Wazir introduced the newly appointed members to the House. Then the new joinees, namely, Sr Swati Maria, Principal, Carmel Convent School, Jammu; Ms. Archana Sharma, Principal, Delhi Public School, Rajbagh, Kathua; Ms. Seema Sambyal, Principal, Holy Presentation Convent School, Rajbagh, Kathua; & Col VK Sharma (Retd), Principal, The Shri Ram Universal School, Samba shared a brief introduction about themselves..

3. Finalization of JSSC Activity Calendar 2022-23

Then the most important agenda point was tabled on the floor, that is, the finalization of JSSC Activity Calendar 2022-23. Some activities were falling on a single day, some activities were proposed in the second fortnight of September (Mid Term exam fortnight) and they were deliberated upon and with consensus arrived at the culmination point.

4. A reflection on the current financial position of JSSC by Mr. KL Dogra, Secretary (Finance), JSSC

Mr. KL Dogra, Secretary (Finance) JSSC and Principal, MV International School, Samba presented the Income and Expenditure report of the JSSC till date highlighting the balance of payment to be made by the member schools (year-wise) and appealed the members for being very prompt in making their payments.

5. Updation of JSSC website: Observations & Strategies by Ms. Randeep Wazir, Jt. Secretary, JSSC

Ms. Randeep Wazir, Joint Secretary JSSC & Principal, IDPS, Jammu briefed the House about her comprehensive & well-defined strategies to revamp the website of Jammu Sahodaya, which were applauded by all. The salient features of the proposed strategies and action plan are given below:

Dr. Atul Nishchal, Founder, International Council for School Leadership (ICSL), New Delhi made a brief presentation on the topic, “Leadership skills for Principals”. He promised to extend his best support to Jammu Sahodaya and Jammu schools, as his roots are from Jammu. The board of ICSL, empowered by several eminent personalities, is known for transforming schools into Institutions.

He promised to offer various ICSL-run programmes free of cost to all the Army Public Schools of the region as well as to those State Board schools, which are extremely promising and recommended by Jammu Sahodaya. He gifted a Coffee Table book titled “Lead the Change” to every Principal present on the occasion.
12. Open House for discussion/ debate/ brain storm:

Dr. Deep Khare, Principal, Jodhamal Public School, Jammu drew the attention of the august House towards CBSE circulars, pouring in almost everyday. He requested the members of Executive committee & fellow Principals to make posting on the Sahodaya Official/ Family Group with a line on the top in bold letters “MOST URGENT”, so that any important time-bound Circular from the CBSE shouldn’t be overlooked. The Executive Committee members took a note of it.

13. Discussion over Venue/date for the next GBM:

Since the member Principals were not prepared on this matter without seeking a prior consent from their Management, so it was decided to share the proposal on the WhatsApp group.
14. Vote of thanks by Ms. Ranju Malhotra, Secretary (Media & Information, JSSC):
In the absence of any other matter to be deliberated upon, Ms. Ranju Malhotra, Secretary (Media & Info), JSSC & Principal, DBN Vidya Mandir, Amarvilla, Jammu proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude on behalf of Jammu Sahodaya to the mentors, KCS Mehta, Mrs. Vijay Puri & Dr. Pramod Srivastava for their humongous support and incessant guidance to the Team JSSC. She applauded all the attendee Principals for making the first GBM a huge success with their gracious presence & meaningful contributions. She appreciated the commendable gesture of Dr. Atul Nishchal, Founder ICSL, for taking the initiative of empowering Jammu Schools on account of his old moorings with the “City of Temples” & gifting the Coffee Table book to each edu-leader present over there. She thanked the host school Principal Mr. Rajesh Rathore & Team JKPS Kunjwani for hosting the GBM with wonderful hospitality and warmth.
