It was a proud moment and a privileged opportunity for Doon International School, Jammu to organise and conduct Inter School English Debate Competition for Juniors(Classes III to V) under the prestigious banner of ‘Sahodaya School Complex Jammu Chapter’ in absolutely Impeccable and meticulous way.
The topic of the debate ‘ My Happiness Quotient is more important than my Academic Excellence’ was such a ‘hit and a fit’ for the age level debating on the occasion. Nineteen reputed CBSE schools of Jammu region participated with immense zeal and colossal enthusiasm. Mr Jagadish Singh Dhami, President and Ms Nirmal Mahna, General Secretary Sahodaya Schools Complex Jammu Chapter were the illustrious ‘Chief Guests’ on the occasion while Mr K.C.S. Mehta(Principal, APS Akhnoor) and Mr Vivek Arora(Principal, Bhargava Public School, Samba) were the ‘Guests of honour’. Although the level of potential debaters was unmatchable and par excellence but as a spirit of competition the event had to be judged and so the honour of judging was done in the most candid and diligent way by Ms Madhvi
Sharma(Senior broadcaster, Radio Kashmir Jammu) and Supriya Chouhan(Reputed lawyer, High Court Jammu).
Gayatri Singh of APS Damana School bagged 1 st position while Anubhav Dubey of Doon International School and Praguni Wazir of APS Nagrota shared the second spot. Ridhima Bhardwaj of KC International School and Saransh Mahajan of APS Nagrota shared 3 rd position.
The Consolation prizes were awarded to Daksh Manhas of Doon International School and Nitiya of APS Akhnoor for the amazing display of their debating potential. The entire event was a treat to witness as it was so immaculately and conscientiously conducted under the mentorship of Dr Vikesh Kaur, Principal, Doon International School, Jammu along with the scrupulous DIS team.
