In the era of westernization where our youth is inclined towards western music, we attempted to channelize their inclination towards patriotism which is somehow has been suppressed. With this decree, we organized an INTERSCHOOL PATRIOTIC SINGING COMPETITION on 17th November’2018 in the school environs in which 18 schools participated and carried the competition to a greater level. This competition was organized under Sahodhya and almost every school left the audience in awe. The competition began in the presence of Chief Guest; Mr. Prasanna Ramaswany ,IAS, Additional Secretary J&k Govt., Guest of Honour Mr. Jagdish Dhami and Ms Nirmal Mahana, and special guest Ms.Suchita Gupta,and judges ; Ms Sonali Dogra, Mr.Sunil Sharma and Mr.Sohail Kazmi,The Management and Principal of the school. The programme commenced with the lightening of the lamp to conjure blessings from the lord for the success of the event. Ensuring these saplings was presented to all the dignitaries as a mark of a green drive. Following these guests were greeted with welcome song presented by our choir and officially welcomed by Principal cum Vice Chairperson Ms Rohini Aima. After this, the teams representing different schools started performing and presented their symphonies which filled the ambience of the school with patriotism. The audience was so engrossed in the competition that even they started to sing along with the teams and then came the much awaited moment of
the event i.e result declaration in which G.D Goenka clinched 1 st position, Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu & KC International shared 2nd position, Jk Public school, Jammu & Heritage School Jammu shared 3 rd position whereas Doon International School got the fourth position and one consolation prize was given to APS Kaluchak, Jammu. Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu as has always resolved not to keep the trophy as a host school, therefore relegated it to the next winner i.e, Doon International School, Jammu.
Principal cum vice Chairperson of the school Ms Rohini Aima congratulated the winners and motivated the participants by asserting that one should never be satiated with one’s performance because the moment one gets gratified the scope of achievement end there. The success of any event depends on the merriment and mirth which the audience carries in their heart even after the relinquishment of any event. The event was supervised by all the coordinators of the school.
