In the series of events organised by Sainik School Nagrota to observe “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, a unique concept of structured cultural exchange between pairs of States, as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, an inter-school English Declamation Competition was organised at the School auditorium on 10 Aug 2018. 48 contestants from 24 elite CBSE member schools of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex along with hosts participated in this competition and portrayed the legendary personalities of Jammu and Kashmir and
partner State Tamilnadu. Participants donning the attires of iconic figures such as Maharaja Gulab Singh, Lalleshwari, Brig Rajender Singh, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam etc., and adopting their distinctive mannerisms captured the attention of the audience and took them to the times of yore. The speakers declaimed at length bringing out the ideals and the supreme social cause for which these personalities
stood steadfast till their last breath.
The jury for the competition, which lasted for over three hours, consisted of Mr DS Ralli, Smt Anita Gupta and Smt Neha Mein from non-participating schools in Jammu. Hardik Gupta of Heritage School won the First Prize. Jahanvi Choudhary of JK Public School stood second while Zitin Kaul of Jodhamal Public School stood Third in this competition. Jodhamal Public School emerged as the overall Winners and Banyan International School ended as Runners-up. Giving away the prizes and certificates to the winners, the Chief Guest, Mrs Urmimala
